DOWNTOWN YMCA

The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee has had a presence in downtown Milwaukee since beginning operations over 150 years ago. The current location of the Downtown YMCA opened in 1998 in the historic John Plankinton Building (which also houses the Shops of the Grand Avenue).

The Downtown YMCA features a wide variety of group exercise classes to challenge and
motivate you. Our health and fitness equipment is state of the art, and our staff and volunteers
will work with you to define your goals and get you started on the path to achieving them.

As part of the Urban Campus initiative, the Downtown center, along with the Parklawn,
Northside, John C. Cudahy and Community Development Centers, work together in order to
provide the programming and services needed to meet the needs of families and individuals
within the central city.
 

PARKING INFORMATION

Parking is available in the attached Shops of Grand Avenue Parking Structure. The structure is operated by a private company, not the YMCA. Special rates are extended to YMCA members*:

                0-2 hrs: $1         2-3 hrs: $2        3-4 hrs: $4          4-5 hrs: $6
                5-6 hrs: $8         6-7 hrs: $10      7-10 hrs: $12      10-24 hrs: $15

*Rates effective July 15, 2010. To get these rates, you must purchase a bar code at the YMCA membership desk and use as you enter/exit the structure. There are also other lots/meters available in the surrounding downtown area.
